Redesmouth - Farthing Cottage

Farthing is a thoroughly delightful cottage all on one level, described sometimes by visitors as a ’Tardis’, as it is deceptively roomy inside.

Built in the 18th century as a railway cottage and nestled in beautiful surroundings in the small hamlet of Redesmouth (2 miles from Bellingham), there are lovely walks in all directions from the front door - along disused railway lines that lend themselves to stunning walks passing along the river Rede.

However far you like to go there will be walks to suit you, and the bluebells are a must see in the spring!

Bellingham is a small, bustling, ancient market town steeped in history, through which the Pennine way passes. It boasts an 18-hole golf course and, if fishing is your thing, permits are available at the post office.

With quaint shops including craft shops, café’s (the old workhouse), outdoor shop bakery, churches and three friendly pubs. There is also a co-op open every day 8 till late.

Hareshaw Lynn waterfall is a 'must see' just a short walk out of town. The Riverdale hotel just a short walk in the other direction has a swimming pool & sauna for visitors to book & use.

Information on all attractions are available in Farthing Cottage so you can get the most out of your holiday. There is more information and links on the Location & map page.
